Lovely and dramatic, this set of 12 notecards (one for each apostle) with envelopes features wonderfully detailed images of the dramatic Baroque statues placed within the niches of the central nave of San Giovanni in Laterano (the Basilica of St. John Lateran), the cathedral church of Rome, renovated by Francesco Borromini, for the jubilee year of 1650. The statues of the apostles were sculpted with all the flourish, emotion, and fervor that the Baroque had to offer. Each apostle carries his own special symbol.
Each card identifies the sculptor, with the apostle on the front and the Basilica on the back. The inside pages provide ample room for your personal note.
